Planting and Growing

Year 2 have been busy planting this term. We planted broad beans. We  have enjoyed observing the plants as they grow and hope they continue to thrive at home. 

As part of our science work, we explored the life cycle of plants and learnt about what plants need to stay healthy.

We set up an experiment to test what plants need to grow. We set up cress in different conditions. We learnt that cress needed water and warmth. It did grow in the dark, but the leaves were yellow.

 

Maths Morning

It's great to have parents joining us for our maths games. We learn so many skills when we play these games. What is your favourite maths game?

Sewing

In design technology, we have been practising our stitching skills. We have been learning how to sew a running stitch. We then designed a simple pouch with decoration. We're very proud of the resilience shown by the children when learning a new skill. 

Animal Fu Workshop

We had great fun keeping fit and learning moves alongside the animal fu characters. Look out for their website, lots to learn and do!
